Please do add simulators, as
1) SFG provides a creamy layer group(intellect & not money) in UPSC preparation, and simulators help to gauge one's performace compared to effective crowd
2) Gives reality check wrt overall preperation with all subjects combined --- which is different from daily focused subject wise approach
3)₹ 1000/month for 2 months is below se bhi below cheaper than Compromising 1 yr thanks to 'couldn't find my name in the list' on prelims result day. And yes 26th may will not be a 50marker SFG, but FLT. (Some may have spent more than 1k on Valentine's itself)

Having said this,
Some people do have a financial constraint, so keep it optional for these people
And forum community(students) is mature enough to opt in for simulators if they have financial Bandwidth to bear 1k/month.

Do add CSAT questions on daily basis, Practise maketh wo/man perfect.
2023 hallmarked that "GS Overshadowing CSAT is perfect recipe to think of another attempt"

Wrt changing schedule - it will be counter productive for students who sincerely followed SFG level 1 plan. (Bcz of revision timeline - last time laxmikant ke darshan 1st week of Jan me hue)
So please dont change the timeline, however do can change the number of days alloted -----tug out few from initial 3 subjects and plug it in for rest of the subjects viz history, geo, env, Scie & tech.... While keeping the sequence same)

Please do allow students to leave before 8AM @regional centres

Firstly  enviornment  and science  are  not subjects  which should  be left for last segment  add enviornment  and science after polity and economics  thn history  this sequence  seems better  .

Secondly  timming  atleast from 8. 7 am morning makes things very hectic  .

Make Saturday  as a day for csat .

And Sunday as FLT

1. Maybe we can assign 1 day per week (or maybe two weeks) to CSAT

2. More PYQs per paper

3. CA inclusion

4. Compressing syllabus for few subjects that we ought to revise multiple times on our own

5. Environment and Science & Tech time allotment and quality of questions could be worked upon

1. I am writing from Germany, in my case time zone is a problem. Please consider international students and please keep the portal personalised and open for time zone.

2. Timetable for few days is too unrealistic and should be rationalised.. Some days it's too much to read which is humanly impossible. Instead number of  days could be extended.

1. Kindly include FLTs, atleast in the last 2 weeks of SFG 2

2. CSAT as a separate paper with the FLTs

3. Inclusion of Current affairs questions everyday

Respected FORUM IAS community,

7 am is perfect time and I request you to not change anything regarding test timings....

I request to have CSAT questions for level-2 minimum 10-15 questions everyday..

Inclusion of current affairs in test

Please allow online students for SFG also and keep the discipline mode on for the test mode to prevent cheating. RLG is more expensive and already feel demotivated without the zeal to be in top 50.

Suggestions :-

1. Time @ 7 AM is perfect.

2. FLTs are needed. ₹1000/month is fine too.

3. CSAT is not needed

4. Current Affairs on themes.

5. 6 days a week plan like SFG 1

6. Misc topics like IR/Mapping be added

Additionally, I feel SFG Level 1 USP was its simplicity. There was a scope for Current Affairs + CSAT in the daily schedule. Unnecessary additions would only make it complex just like other programmes floating in the market.

1.As per my opinion timing is problem for many students.... Me and 3 of my frnds are giving sfg.... Because of 7am test and hectic schedule we didn't attend some tests as we are unable to complete the syllabus on time.....

2.In 2023 Csat paper was tough......students need more practice....so.....Csat should be added at least weekly once.....

3.Current affairs is most important for upsc.... So CA should be there in everyday test...

3.Environment and science and technology should be in middle.... Like after polity or economics..... In level 1 it was at last.... So mostly students won't show more intrest as they did in other subjects......

4.There should be some minor changes in day to day schedule.....

With respect to the timing of 7AM, innthe first batch that we had , only people who had flunked came. Already suffering from some sorta depressiosn ( not the clinincal medical condition ) If any slack of time is provided, less people turn up. Make the time a comfortable 11am and no one turns up as by then most people are full of negative thoughts and faltu thoughts.

7am time was done so that we make people do something before any negativity - ideas, thoughts or persons - get them.

So the timing is not up for debate.

Weekly 1 full length test (2hr )should be included in the schedule, it wil benefit us to develop the strategy to tackle real exam over the period of time.

I’m planning to leave SFG because of the following reasons:
1. I’m not able to finish analysis of the test (if I’m analysing the paper, I will have less time to prepare for next day)
2. Writing test everyday is not helping me cover PYQs and other necessary things that I should be covering before April end
3. Writing test daily is ultimately enabling me rush through the topics and I’m just finishing it for the sake of writing next day.
4. My mind is getting tricked with the language of FORUM IAS where I will know which option to tick even if I’m not prepared

The possible solution could be:

1. Conducting full length tests twice a week instead of daily half length tests
2.  One full length sectional test after the end of the syllabus of each subject.
3. Adding simulators between is a good idea
4. Atleast 3-4 full length CSAT test could help

How much time it is taking to cover syllabus or to do test analysis is very subjective - it depends completely on your current preparation level. If you are taking more time , means preparation in previous attempt was not done properly.

How is it defeating PYQ coverage given that 5 questions are from pyq only and anyone wanting that extra 5 questions correct can do so just by doing PYQs.

Flats are already being conducted once a weeek in test series.

Respected team

1. Time should be from 9.00 am for half length and full length because at the end of the day we have to give exam at 9.30am

2. 4 days for GS , 1 day for CSAT , 1 day for FLT ( Sunday should be totally free...mental health matters) ( ministry of education guidelines can be followed)

3. map /ca /ir at least 4/ 5 question should be given

4.  Please allot discussion to Economics again to that sir only who was in previous FLT .... because he can clear the concept in awesome way (otherwise both faculties who are currently discussing are good at explanation) ( or if you want to continue with those teachers please bring special doubt clearing session for economics with same faculty for students like me who are very poor in economics 😩)

 @Neyawn Sir,

am i fool to buy n pay so much for forumias prelims test series one year back, and now u give away gs simulators nearly free to ur sfg favourites? what about those of us who have paid for the simulator test series full papers? or will u refund us if you are going to give away simulators just like that for 1k - 2k?

1) csat test weekly / two times a week  with 50qs. GS tests should continue with 6days plan and timings are perfect.

2) Qs from previous themes tested already also in subsequent tests.

3) flts to also  be included.

4) alternate tests of moderate and tricky subjects - say polity - s&t- economy- a&c- env, rather than all doable in the beginning only.

5)penalty marks 10  for submission of omer beyond 8am .

6) miscellaneous qs of IR / random organisations etc to also be included, the way upsc does.

I have filled the google form but I want to add two things here.

Please do not incorporate simulators in between. Please keep them at the end only.

There is no real benefit of FLTs without studying major subjects. It wastes 2 hrs which could have been utilised for revision. The best and the only appropriate time for FLTs is after going through every subject. So, rather than fitting FLTs in between, it is better to use that day to finish subject wise tests faster.

Please do not include CSAT questions in between GS questions

Approaching GS and CSAT questions require different mindset. It will break the flow while solving the paper and will completely ruin it.

If at all there is a requirement to add CSAT questions, then add 5 only at the end.

My suggestion would be to keep CSAT separate. I am against the argument that 5 questions in every test will force those people to practice CSAT who earlier used to skip separate CSAT tests. Those who want to do it will do it anyway, and those who don't will skip the questions.

I would just say, that you can only bring the horse to the lake (by conducting CSAT test separately) but you can't force it to drink. Please don't skrew up SFG by trying to force them to drink the water. Too many microtargets jumbled up in one plan will destroy the essence of SFG.

These two are definitely going to be deal breakers for me.

1. Please provide detailed explanation of incorrect questions especially in key term questions.

2.Full length test should also be included.

3. 1-2 csat sectional csat test should be included

@Neyawn Totally sir. These 7AM tests have saved me from wasting the entire day because of negative thoughts. Also, writing the test first thing in the morning creates a daily compartmentalisation of targets. It prevents the mind from being overburdened with mutiple checkpoints in the same day.

-Change timing to upsc prelims timing 9-10am

-Csat should be added

-FLT in the end

-specific CA test
