Everyone who wrote mains this time I would really like to know what worked for you guys this time in prelims?
Considering the kind of unexpected paper that it was this time, still people were able to get such good marks in prelims and able to clear it, I would really like to know what worked for you and what was your 'strategy' ?
You probably missed prelims by v close…I know you had a sound prep. Don’t doubt it. Just keep doing the needful (one ca source and basics) and you’ll be through this time. Sometimes, it’s just a matter of luck and more people should realise that.
100%.
Thoda confidence on your intuition and knowledge + keeping yourself calm in the exam + using past learnings to eliminate 1/2 options is the key, apart from what others said.
I felt the answer booklet dimensions in mains much less than what test series booklets provide ?
I have given limited test series ,so it could be just me but did anyone else feel the space crunch issue particularly for 10m ?
I find the opposite.
Usually we write tests on pages which are 'shrink to fit'. The horizontal width of writing area in such pages is thus lower than the official page. Forum ke test booklets ko if you print in 'Actual size', the width is almost same as in the actual UPSC sheet. Match it with the sample booklet and see for yourself.
Also, please write tests on pages which have same horizontal writing area as UPSC's. It'll help in understanding which diagrams can be fitted and how to utilise the space. Small thing but I feel it's extremely important!!
To all of you lovely people who wrote mains last month, how are you dividing time right now between
- Interview
- Mains content improvement
- Prelims
