Mains 2021 Result declared - In or Out?

The paper was set as if upsc is on dope. People who have written real is ration, rational is real from philosophy perspective, you are doomed. you have to write a generalist essay in case you are wondering..

5 down.. 2 more to go.. (4 actually)...

Not going to comment on how the paper went till 16th evening... I'm just glad that half of the process is over..

Just a matter of few days now.. Relax for some time if you want...give rest to your hands.. But dont waste time in these 5 days.. Optional can make or break ur chance in getting that interview call..

P. S: Koi meal ni di upsc ne toh.

Also, It was raining cats and dogs whole day yesterday.. I even got fever  because of the sardiii... and couldn't revise much last night.. I'm just glad that the fever ended last night itself.

At my centre, only water rained. No cats and dogs. Don't know about your centre. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@necromancer personal experience, ever since I started taking sufficient protein and working out, been less lethargic and more energetic. Productivity gone up considerably

Protein rich diet and resistance training can do wonders with one’s health. I too consume about 1.8g per kg bodyweight on largely vegetarian diet and little help from whey protein supplement. I also started with 3 grams of Creatine few months ago which has helped me splendidly with recovery phase.

@KingSlayer23 very curious to know what your diet is

Its pretty basic just that i do some portion control on carbs and add easy sources of protein like sprouts, pulses, etc I do take eggs regularly though and yeah milk is very important for me. Managing macronutrients is not that hard once we learn about them.

@KingSlayer23 you know your diet pretty well my friend. You should try some ZMA for recovery. Works like a charm

Sure thing…. although I mainly rely on bananas right now :P

My Essay was on the better side although in the second essay I felt like maybe the flow was not that smooth.
GS 1,2,3 went largely okay…gs3 had many yorkers in 10 markers but that’s the case for everyone so yeah…GS4 was decent too.
Optional went actually better than my expectations but I’m not sure if it was good enough for healthy score of around 300 so let’s see what happens. I’ve tend to have an optimistic bias about my performance so I’m kind of skeptical too. I guess next few weeks will be like that only.

Koi counter attack krne wala hi nhi h. Sudden 2 wickets nd ye rone lgte h.

Perhaps for the first time,Koi stable middle order hi nhi h. Har series m naye log utha k le aate h middle order k liye.

Yeah exactly…suddenly a lack of batting depth

Even I like the ODIs. But I feel under Kohli test cricket has become more interesting 😛

well he built the team in his own image and I feel there is a lack of natural leadership after him. I’m not sure KL Rahul will be that indispensable player himself who will be the long term leader. Like when Dhoni was getting old we all could see the natural leader emerging in Virat…now there is a massive vacuum. I think we as Indian fans should expect a period of slump before things fully settle

No one is assured of their place in the middle order. Last year when Pant got injured Rahul was keeping and was being looked up as middle order player despite being an opener in his whole career. Then after a stellar test series Pant got his place back. Moreover, back problems of Hardik Pandya has also been a issue.

Bhai thanks to indian cricket's Muhammad bin Tughlaq ( kohli ) . Pure captaincy m schemes hi bnata reh gya woh. Pehle raydu ka kata nd 2019 wc m '' 45 min of bad play'' happened.

Fir i remember last mains k baad ek t20 series hui thi with England,in that kohli n Rohit opened nd they did quite well. After that series ,kohli said that opening partnership for T20 wc was now  settled . But again ,t20 wc m Rohit Rahul aa gye .

Ek toh ye iska '' 30 min of bad play'' nd ''45 min of bad play'' wala drama . Isko lgta h ki bas iski hi team 30 min k bad play k wajah se haarti h . Baki Sabhi teams pura match ganda khel k haarti h . Matlab ekdom baccho Wale bahane h iske . Life m pehli bar cricket se frustration hui mujhe iski captaincy ki wajah s seriously

Well yeah..his captaincy and unparalleled influence over the board was criticised by RC Guha as well (He has written a lovely book on Cricket recently btw)

"natural leader" my foot.  Infact india is suffering from natural leadership deficit since dhoni because kohli himself is as incompetent a captain as a man can be, and even worse as a leader. when will you come out of this GREAT KOHLIAN ILLUSIONARY SPHERE mate. The records in international championship are in front of you. This BHAKTI in cricket has to stop.

Well I’ll just agree to disagree with you because despite lack of icc trophies, Virat leaves as India’s best test captain. He instilled an aggressive attitude in the team, demanded more from everyone and had a pretty solid overseas record. So I can’t choose to ignore that in my opinion.

@Duryodhan The similarity between Tendulkar, kohli and kl is they are fantastic as batsman but utterly incompetent as captain. Infact i very strongly feel it was wrong to naturally bring kohli as captain after dhoni when rohit as a senior player was there. Atleast some testing must have been done. This mr virat "captain by chance" kohli and his alcohol loving friend shastri have ruined India's records in international cricket no doubt as seen from this leadership's failure in bagging any championship success at international level.  Infact like shastri, kohli must also be given some rest, he is " surplus" in a team filled with real talent.

India has actually come a long way under Kohli, especially in tests. Even in white ball cricket the team has done extremely well. Not winning a trophy sucks obviously but that can't be your only criteria to judge someone's tenure.

Test Series Wins in Australia and England are not lesser achievements

Absolutely

Some People are saying that winning bilateral series is nothing in comparison to winning a trophy..
In the same breath some people compare this with upsc and say that scoring good in mocks is not good if you dont clear prelims..

Here is where the argument is flawed..
In our own UPSC journey we see veterans giving their sweat and blood to clear this exams.. some reach the semifinals(mains), some reach the finals(interview)... and we often see people not getting their name even once in the list..
And just like that their 6 attempts are over..

It does not mean that these candidates did not give their best or were arrogant or didnt deserve..
Sometimes it is just not meant to be..

I believe we Indians as a society are so fixated with WINNING that we never ever appreciate the process.. Today, we will curse Kohli for not making India win a single championship, but in this process we miss out so many things..
I really really feel sorry for people who think that Kohli has not let younger talents come up and flourish... Siraj is one of the biggest examples.. Two years ago you might have laughed at that guy, but today you realize his importance in the bowling unit...

A wise man once said, captaincy is not just about winning or losing a championship.. it is beyond what happens in the field for those 20/50/90 odd overs.... it is what you bring to the table in the dressing room.. in the nets.. and even beyond that..

Every captain had something or the other to contribute to Indian cricket team.. And I believe Kohli has played a decent enough part...

Spot on. Also you know when we see that legendary analysts and veterans of the game have admired the positive aggression brought in by Virat, I feel there is no point in paying heed to the keyboard warriors who will slate him for lack of icc trophies. I mean by that logic one would even slate down a legend like MAK Pataudi which  would be just absurd. A captain or a leader’s role goes far beyond winning silverware.

So I was reading about the ongoing protests in UP and Bihar around the railways recruitment and I saw that about 1.25 crore applications were sent to RRB! 1.25 crore! Now we all know the benefits of privatisation of railways and the current regime’s plan to have some form of privatisation in near future in this sector but the question is that in the light of unemployment scenario in country is it even a wise or timely decision? What do you all think?

@KingSlayer23 Thinking of public sector as the chief employer is a problem. Such a situation will obviously lead to a pyramid scheme and finally will result in the 1990 like situation. Only a flourishing private sector, with a government functioning as neutral regulator and facilitator will bring economic growth.

Railways are running at a heavy financial loss, one of the major reasons being inefficiency, which is inherent to public sector. Now, if we keep on employing people in public sector without any reforms or stream lining, how will ultimately the salaries and pensions of government employees be made? Govt will have to print money, simple! Which will make the whole system, the ultimate Ponzi scheme.

Well made point
