Mains 2021 Result declared - In or Out?

Hey guys, I'm late to the discussion party but felt like giving an update :p

Had really good hopes with GS (except ethics section A :p) and essay went fine too. But optional went equally down the hill to not even secure interview call. I've a science optional, knew how to derive and solve whatever asked in the paper. Couldn't attempt due to lack of practice to actually do it in exam.

To the next time now! :)

In a similar situation :P

GS essay went well. Optional not so good. Science optionals have the advantage/disadvantage that you know exactly how your paper went. No room for grace.

Maths optional guys, how it went?

Paper 1 wasn't good. There were atleast 40 marks more questions that I could have gotten right on a better day.

Paper 2 went better. There's a lot of scope for improvement but overall satisfactory from my side

Hey guys! People who have given mains before, what do you think about these analysis by vision ias? I have watched them before but I hadn’t written mains last year.. so I liked their in depth Solutions etc.

but this time it’s giving me anxiety…. I know obviously they didn’t prepare the answers in 3 hours, exam situation but … can anyone tell me roughly.. what % of content/answers should match with their analysis to feel content (to whatever extent possible) ? I hope you all understand what I’m trying to say/ask..

When watching these videos, I try to focus on a) whether I've understood the core demand of the question b) whether I've structured my answer properly and c) what subjects/areas am I weak in. Doing this will help me in figuring out what to improve subsequently.

As far as possible, I've tried to ignore the content. At times however, the teacher might say something which I hadn't thought of (maybe a different style of presentation, or a particular way of value addition). I'll make a note of those things.
