GS-4 Soooooo long paper!!
Started with Section A and took me 2 hrs to complete... scared shitless with just 1 hr left for 6 case studies...
Wrote 2 case studies okayish.. 2 very poorly directly picking up the sub-parts and some generic points/poor thought out points. Couldn't attempt one complete case study and one about 2/3rd left!
I feel like crying!
I am thinking if starting with section-B would have been better choice as answering section-A in time crunch would have been easier (anyways 10 markers)? Anyone who started with section-B please share your experience.
Yes it helps..i took 110 minutes to complete case studies and was able to solve 13 theory questions in 70 minutes

Got 251 in previous attempt bhai ji.. this time was able to cover more sociological dimensions.. didn't knew one question at all in paper 2(10 mark) have written 2 pages only in one 20 marker questions..but overall quality was good and was able to complete paper . Used many sociological thinker and perspectives. Fingers crossed
@Panchayat 745 was last year. this year seats have increased+ gs4 which is one area where average marks rise was the lengthiest this year. cutoff will come down than 745

Bhai ji this is my 5th attempt so I had good content..and answer writing in previous mains..but as i told I have written 2.5 page answer in one question, and probably 3 in another..so you can say 2 answers are not good..due to paucity of time

4) Explain how cyclonic and anti-cyclonic distribution affects temperature/pressure.
5) Explain how local winds affect temperature/pressure.
6) Explain temperature inversion.
7) Explain the role of Jet streams in Indian weather, Monsoon and cyclones in Bay of Bengal.
This answer is just never ending lol, a few points from the above would do justice. There's enough content in our Ncerts to deal with this question.

Brother, kya ap jaante ho main sabse jyada frustrated Kab Tha??When I failed my first mains..Couldn't sleep for 3-4daya after the result...This is the chillest mains I have appeared since I first appeared in 2016.Reason??Realisation that the nature of exam is such that either you are lucky, or you are born with talents that fits upsc criteria..And most importantly I find money and peace in endeavours away from UPSCMy intention is in no way to undermine the achievement of those who clear this exam. But to make newbies aware of the realities of this exam, so that the stress caused due this exam is powered, and no one wastes 5-6 years of their youthful year.Frustration Hota to UPSC jaakar todfod karta. For me gs paper 1 was very good due to socio optional and keen interest in art and culture.. except that colour coding one . I had content for other questions..some were good some were average. For me paper 2 was not good..likewise other people have command on other subjects..our sample size is very less .

Na bhai..gs2 was not good..gs 4 was average only...gs3 no clue about cellulose and that protocol question.. wrote very general thing in james webb one.Fingers Crossed.. Don't know whether I will clear mains or not ..
@krishna96 What I feel is that every single question matters...even those are easy.... structure, flow, data, relevance, lucidity etc. Writing atleast 20 questions daily for both gs and optional is must. Have learnt this lesson hard way...but there is no other option. A preparation Unexamined is not worth pursuing I suppose!
yes bhai you are correct....But due to job I don't get much time to write 20 questions..But yes introspection is must
@Panchayat ha bluff nhi karna chahiye tha dube wala. Last 3 min bache tge pressure mei aa gaya isliye 1 page kuch likha .but mostly sideline pe hi khela witg .other thinkers. But again nhi karta toh it would have been best
