@rockhard rock bhai primary rock secondary rock kisi ko yaad nhi tha sahi me...teacher bhi bolenge ki easy aaya tha...students bhi...lekin jo exam hall me baitha hai..wo jaanta hai ki uspe kya biti hai...troposphere...photochemical smog questions me bhi clarity ke sath 6-7 line likhna mushkil tha agar Geo optional na ho toh

Finally someone said ki primary rock waala question "exam condition mein" likhna difficult tha. Was too embarrassed to tell anyone ki I found it tough to answer in exam hall. :p

The organisers of oylmpics should be first tested in various sports to see if they could compete. organisers of world chess championship should be first made to compete against carslen to see if they could win under timed conditions. that should be the parameter to see if they could organise the tournament or not.

Bahut din baad thoda maza aa rha hai iss platform pe. Soch rhe hain bahti ganga mein haath dho liya jaaye par phir kabhi aaenge. But, Good discussion guys :p

Anyway, Chess ki baat nikali hai toh thoda Niemann-Carlsen controversy pe bhi ho jaaye ek round. Should Niemann be punished more for his online cheating or should he be given a pass due to cheating at very young age ????
Does it suit behavior of world Champion to withdraw ??

Koi manushya nahi hai PSIR wala???

How was PSIR compared to last time ??

2.7k views
@brownianMotion how was ur PSIR optional?

@nalin_pandey78066 Good luck bhai. Hope you smash paper 2 also this time. :)

Coming to my attempt, It was okay. I thought I was able to write better answers than last time thanks to direct questions coming from test series. However, I also feel ki baaki logon ne bhi unn questions ki achi practice kr rkhi hongi. As a result, those who have done value addition will be rewarded.  That value addition part I am not too sure about myself. Rest UPSC will tell.

Par ache questions the toh likhne mein acha feel hua.

@mounikamouni24_h944  how was your attempt ?

@brownianMotion which test series u have followed for PSIR?

The SR one with crash course !

Aaj ka naya masala !! :p
On a lighter note,@GaneshGaitondeI agree with most of your points. Always felt mam gives too much attention on Paper 1A and neglects Paper2 significantly. However, she covers Paper 2 in crash course at least in last crash course, it was extensively covered.

Regarding evaluation, the less said the better.  I got my evaluated 2A answer sheet on 24th September (PSIR exam on 25th :p ). However, content wise the notes, test series discussion and model answers are enough I believe. This was also highlighted by AIR-5 this year (314 marks from more or less mam notes). I also believe that mam understands the demand of the exam. How an answer should be structured and how to use subject knowledge to augment the demand of the question is addressed by her in test discussion.

One of my top-50 ranked friends (270s in PSIR) has advised to not look too much into test evaluation and comments. Rather just give attention to how mam discusses those questions in class.

And yes, there should be more competition and quality teachers of PSIR in market. But sadly, it is not there and hence, the PSIR world order is currently and continues to be Pax-SRicana !!! :p

Hope you and your institute will create a balance of power to tame hegemony !! :D

@brownianMotion  is ma'am videos something different from model answer content and pdf she uploads ? Never found time to watch her videos in any of my attempts. Not very sure how people manage to find time to watch her videos.

Does it help wrt paper 2 ? Paper 2 is my concern as it is more random. In paper 1 people score good despite crash course or no crash course.

You practiced psir from ma'am test series only or done anything along with it like pyq or topper copies ?

I found only very few qn from ma'am test series this time ! Which one are you talking about ?

Hi, This is my personal opinion. I have never got good marks in PSIR (105~110 in mocks, 240 in Mains). So, my opinion might be misleading too.

1. Videos content are very much different from model answers. In discussions, she talks about structuring and line of thinking. This might help in augmenting subject knowledge with questions. I have faced issues in writing answer in language of the subject. One or two keywords here and there in discussion gets recalled in exam.
You can watch the videos at 2x at home or increase to more speed from 'inspect element' in browser

2. Last crash course, she started with paper 2. It was more comprehensive coverage. It helped me to some extent as I had very less content in paper 2. Infact marks in paper 2 >paper 1 for me as paper 1 was disaster :p

3. I watched lectures and attempted sectional test of each part this time. Many PYQs were covered in class by mam. Considering, my historical low marks - something more needs to be done from my side !! :)

4. I did not cross check. It just felt lot of questions were from test series or some discussion from mam
Here they provide the source of question from test series.

Baaki questions ache the iss baar I felt. Rest UPSC will tell. Whether history of low marks repeats or ....

Why they remove the videos after crash course completion i wanted to watch for paper 2 as well but could not. :(

Did you cover pyq separately else from videos ?

So SR content of CC and normal classes and sectional test is what you did this time ? Attempted FLT as well ?

Any tips for paper 2 and if you could share your copies it would be great :)  Paper 2 is something I am very confident about but my performances missing the trick and not able to score. :(

Lectures are there till 15th October !!
Bhai, I dont think you will get anything from my answer sheets. I am ~105 range person in FLTs. You can refer to topper copies present in dashboard. They are definitely good.
I gave 4 FLTs - each for 1A,1B,2A,2B

@Capedcrusader1trigger acha kr rhe aap idhar :p

Every language is good and should be respected. Jiska jo mann kre learn, any imposition is wrong.
The bare minimum hindi which helps during travel is present at railway station signboards everywhere. People and places near tourist places in south and other places know that bare minimum to accommodate everyone. So, we should also try to accommodate others grievances.

@MC CullumIts good to take pride in one's culture. But any hyper pride wont do anyone good.

I do have one argument. Southern leaders are very under-represented in Delhi power politics. Just one PM from south. I feel that their reluctance to accommodate Hindi will not let them become mass leaders like Modi etc with a wide support base. Maybe a little Hindi can enable us to see great mass leaders from South as PMs in Delhi in future.Thats my thought. You can disagree.

PS - I respect every language. Lived 2 years in Bangalore. Still regret that I could not learn Kannada. :)

LEKIN ek chiz samaj k pareh hai...

Modi ji to gujrat k hai.. Gujarat is western India and Non Hindi speaking state...

South Indian konse Tarak me bolte, he is north indian PM..

Matlab south Indian PM bole to sirf 5/28 states se hi hona chahiye.

Ye to jinnah ka statement lagta muslim india vs non muslim india.. aka South India vs non South India..

Matlab kal koi nagaland se PM banta hai to vo bhi north indian hi kaha jayega.. wah india me kitne tejaswi log hai

The discourse is not on North vs South. Rather it has been Dravida vs Aryan. In Tamil Nadu, any association with so called Aryan identity is very much criticized. When MK Stalin paid courtesies to Modi, this was criticized by hardcore Dravidians. Stalin then had to reassert that there is no compromise with Ideology.
That is also why Hindi is very much rejected because it is associated with Indo-Aryan language. Any attempt of imposition is protested because it tries to give a message that Aryans are subjugating Dravidians.

This is based on my limited knowledge. Rest history and anthropology optional guys can better elaborate.

Neither have Pub. Ad.nor History & nothing personal or against anyone but someone I know closely in the service (in service since 2008) is really pissed with B.tech guys! Said that technical subject people neither understand the rationale nor the principles & never apply brain where logical discretion for principled decisions is required. This was mostly in context with Ministerial & Court work! He pointed out some silliest things which were there in policies but sab nhi bata sakta idhar!

Ruchira Kamboj ma'am toh full on bhakt mode me aa gyi hain.

Inko quote bhi kiya tha.

Aise hi unapologetic rehna hai. Bahut ho gya West ka hegemony.
Apna discourse khud banana hai. Koi democracy, human rights, Environment, minorities, Art 19 pe lecture de toh bas bol dena hai ki hume lecture nahi chahiye. Hum already act krte rhe hain. Tum apna dekho :p

Sounds good, doesn't work. You need Media apparatus comparable to Hollywood, BBC, NY Times, WSJ, etc. to build your own discourse. By not having the said tools & also annoying the West, while at the same time pressing the peddle on Westernisation of population, expect color revolutions & balkanisation.

We have 1.4 Billion people. I think this power is unrealized till now. We have sufficient resources to kickstart our discourse.

Baaki main agree krta hoon bro that we need these apparatus and west has a huge headstart. Lekin ye mindset bhi nahi chahiye ki jabtak ye appratus nahi aaenge, tab tak hum lecture sunte rhenge. Kabhi toh shuru krna padega

Start kr diya hai Jaishankar ji ne, baaki dheere dheere ho jaaega appratus taiyaar.

Inko quote bhi kiya tha.

jab leadership strong ho to officials and ambassadors bhi fearlessly apna point rakh pate he, bina ye soche ki "West Kya Kahenge"

Aur isko bhakt mode me ana nahi kehte, apni baat ko saaf saaf rakhna kehte he

If you think that talking tough alone, without having the requisite determinants of power [hard or soft] to match that talk, is gonna do wonders for the country, then good for you.

Tum jaise ch*tiye toh competition hai. Tu aur R* Rona kar le brosree ke
