Doubt Clearance Thread: UPSC 2021

@sjerngal Considering that Vertical distribution of salinity is a very complex phenomenon that varies locally due to multiple factors, I think the variation in Mid-lats is due to the influence of warm currents which increase the salinity on subsurface.

This is an explanation from the PMF IAS Ocean Salinity section.
Hope it helps!

@Steph_Curry The answer should be C(46).
Divide into all the probable cases from each Amit and his wife's pool of friends and then add all the ways.
There will be 3 different cases.

@Usain_bolt Essential commodities are generally dealt by the Price Monitoring Division under Dept. of Economic Affairs, and the same is given on the website.

I haven't seen or couldn't find anything linking CACP and Essential Commodities as such.
Which PYQ is this?

@Usain_bolt Maybe by "EssentialAgriculturalCommodities" they wanted to indicate MSP crops??
The wording could've been better though.

I don't think the other election commissioners require parliamentary approval, the prez can remove them on the reco of CEC.
Art. 324(5) states the conditions for removal of CEC and EC separately.

why is it called Magna carta of ENGLISH education though ? C nhi hona chahiye answer. B bhi ho skta hai to create a market for english products

C is not exactly correct because Woods Despatch recommended vernacular medium at school level, and then English lang. for higher studies.

The D option is more correct as it did focus on rationalism in Traditional Indian education by promoting secular education, stressed on female and vocational education and asked the govt to take responsibility.
It is called Magna Carta as it laid the foundation of western education in India.
The wording of options is confusing though.
