UPPCS 2021

With UPPSC 2020 OVER, We certainly know sirf  UPSC ke liye padhne se to ni hoga. Prelims requires dedicated effort. Lets work in that direction because the reward is too big to ignore and can be achieved with giving only a couple of days per month. But yeah, no compromise with UPSC time.

@Agog The usual. Either you know or don't. No guesswork possible. I don't understand how the cutoff goes as high as 126

Bcoz questions are direct from ghatna/ purvalokan. Anyone with decent amt of focused pcs prep, can get 110+ right.

I couldn’t. 😭

I was in my dream world after giving last dec 2019 up prelims and clearing it that it is just a milder version of UPSC. Hell, no. Paper quite rudely threw that NO at my face. (Specific reason : I felt too tired to read any new stuff in these 6 days.)

a not so good day.

@sstarrr Same boat as you mate. Just gave first UPPCS. Stuck at 82 ques with the official key. The difference was facts and mug up gk things. Acc. to me, preparing for UPSC exclusively does not make you cross UPPSC cutoff. I'd suggest you solve the previous 10 yrs UPPSC prelims paper to get the hold of questions asked!
Source, our standard UPSC ones+ the Ghatna Chakras with UP current affairs.
There is a channel, Study for Civil Services. You can check them out!
I feel that if we just plan for it strategically, we can clear PT and mains can be given with UPSC knowledge.

After doing  1 st round I could do only 90 questions...thought itne me bilkul nhi hoga....so went ahead & guessed rest of them-150/150😂😂😂

P.S I know I won't be able to make it.

@abyz0101199129239  last year commission released the key within 2-3 days and gave window for objection. At least in some ways UPPSC is working better than UPSC.

Ghatnachakra is enough for general science. You can ignore state gk but i will say that you should read some facts like UP census,  budget,  which city is famous for what, wetland located in state.

In geography,  winds local name, major cities located on river bank, important tribes of world and india.

If possible go through  gktoday mcq as fast as you can..you won't regret 🙂

Same. In hindsight I think, should have sticked to those 90+ Q and attempted max 20 more, rather than mindlessly attempting almost everything. Those 90 were easy Q; got most of them right. Similarly got almost all guesswork Q wrong.

But then, had no time for two rounds after round 1, to differentiate between calculated guesswork and blind guesses. Dusre round mein jo dikha, jo theek laga bhar diya.

@Sadhika In other ways too. Let me tell you, social distancing norms were followed in a much better way at UPPCS centres than UPSC. At least at my centre, arrangements were top notch. Even when the papers were about to be distributed, the packet was offered to the students if they wanted to check the seal themselves. A tiny gesture, but a nice one.

Is there any other way around this? As far I know yeh ghatnachakra english me toh hai ni. Hindi me padhne me mera ho chuka...

Yes there is an alternative. Look at the last year paper. Not that dependent on ghatnachakra CA. I covered from GKtoday, affairscloud etc and ended up doing all CA questions right. So pick any of the compilations which is fact based, but for UP news you can see ghatna

Not to sound elitist, but after Preparing for UPSC, yesterday when I saw questions like which of the following airports is declared international airport, new NLU location, where was a solar park in 2018 Estd, felt annoyed.
UPPCS needs a dedicated stream of preparation. Have to do those ghatna chakras and factual current affairs.
UPSC knowledge will help you sail mains, not pre.
The reward is quite great if you clear prelims tbh for a UPSC aspirant. It is highly beneficial if one can give a couple of days a month to it. Thinking of doing it.

Agreed. Couldn’t answer most of such CA questions.

I am from Lucknow and I couldn’t recall biotechnology park which is in Lucknow, ah felt so stupid...

Are these compilations paid? I couldn't find them.

Managed to find most on telegram on t.me/affairscloudfree

If you scroll through files you can find compilations for the Jan-August period together.

If it's not much of an issue, can you please upload them here?

@DramaticAdmiral What do you think of that Study for Civil Services guy? His monthly CA videos are 1.5 hrs long. I think doable stuff?

@Hitman2021 According to the people i talked to who have easily cleared the cutoff in previous years said cutoff would be a little lower so i think yes. But they are mainly UPSC people so it might be possible that it was easier for people who were solely preparing for UPPCS so it can go either way but he definitely has a chance imo.
