Hello everyone,

This is my last attempt at UPSC and have written two mains. Although I have identified my weak spots and plan to work on them for next 1 to 1.5 month.

I will be turning 31. So I have only one attempt at RBI. I was wondering if anyone who has given can guide as to how overlapping it is with UPSC (Commerce optional) or will it amount to spreading myself too thin, given I have just two months to prepare and also need to work on UPSC.

Hi

I gave mains 2022(1st attempt )could not clear it.planning to go for other attempt this year.

I am a bsc graduate (2021)and didn't go for Msc.

This year I also gave DU LLB EXAM and got a seat there. But my familiy conditions aren't not good enough for me to sustain here (upsc)for too long without having a job.I can't appear for other bank exams/ssc exams as i am weak in quant (Took pcb post 10th)and am preparing for my next attempt. So i am planning to give SSC MTS this year even though reviews about it are very bad

If anyone has any idea regarding the job profile of mts?

Or any other exam which i can give ?or job openings which are related to upsc.

I am really stressed as my family's situation is getting worse day by day.

@Kookybooky MTS isn't a good post. You can join upsc coachings as an evaluator after two mains. You can also join chegg, where you submit answers can earn some money, although it's not a lot. You can also start giving private tuitions but that might take a good chunk of your time daily.

@D7  if only one attempt left then take break......give other exams.....get a job......then give last attempt.

Okay so here are my 2 cents

A person employed as Mts in many deptts, doesn’t even work according to the officially assigned job demand (you many look into the job profile of mts, it’s officially allocated, like any other post). One may search for what an ‘operator’ does or ‘contractual’ ones do.

but that doesn’t mean that Mts will not be asked to do ‘his’ job. Now, once one enters a deptt, the seniors mts work under usually know what’s his ‘deal’, and they will know what’s his plan soon enough.honesty is needed here irrespective of nature of boss. That’s where the question of leniency arises. Again, building rapport with seniors (since Mts as right there at the bottom), is instrumental.

100 baat ki 1 baat , agar complacent hone ke lie Mts lena h toh, mat lo bhai. Not because it’s a ‘lowly’ job by some standards according to some but because someone may genuinely need that job too.

All the variables required after getting the job needed to prepare for the exams further is subject to oneself only.

Ruchira Kamboj ma'am toh full on bhakt mode me aa gyi hain.

Inko quote bhi kiya tha.

Aise hi unapologetic rehna hai. Bahut ho gya West ka hegemony.
Apna discourse khud banana hai. Koi democracy, human rights, Environment, minorities, Art 19 pe lecture de toh bas bol dena hai ki hume lecture nahi chahiye. Hum already act krte rhe hain. Tum apna dekho :p

Sounds good, doesn't work. You need Media apparatus comparable to Hollywood, BBC, NY Times, WSJ, etc. to build your own discourse. By not having the said tools & also annoying the West, while at the same time pressing the peddle on Westernisation of population, expect color revolutions & balkanisation.

With George Soros in News, I would like to say this comment/analysis was ahead of its time.

(A self congratulatory note)

Hello people! Do you know of any toppers who have cleared the exam whilst not finishing their mains papers? I have left around 35 marks in GS and 20 in optional. This was my second mains and answers were better than what I wrote in my first mains. However, this "not finishing the paper" thing has led me to wonder if there were other toppers who have managed to clear without finishing their papers as well. I am aware I cannot change anything now but hope is what someone always looks for : )

Thank you so much!

Hi Friends!!

I just dropped by to say all the best to all of you. I re-activated my account today after many years. I was a serious player from 2013-2017, I had scored pretty well in Essay(160) and Sociology(235), thereafter I wrote CAT and got into a B school (yes, despite 4 years of gap on my profile). My life changed completely thereafter. I did well in academics and met the love of my life in college. Today I am working in the sector of financial inclusion and getting paid quite decently. My heart goes out when I see old players getting into depression or facing difficult financial situation. I may not have cleared the exam but I am still working for the upliftment of rural population. If you need any support/guidance about Plan B or how to get into B Schools or how to get to work for rural population, feel free to contact me at ankit8418@gmail.com

All the best guys for your future endeavours!!

What are the chances to secure  a decent B schools after 6 gap years in UPSC ?

Can we get a decent B School after scoring well in CAT after 6 gap years in upsc . What are the gap year/age limit criteria in prominent B Schools
How does they consider this scenario in interview

If some knows this pls tell

@Hustlerhust Take it step by step. Focus on scoring good percentile in CAT (92perc.+). Then apply for institutes, you will get calls if you score well. They have objective criteria to shortlist for interviews which includes 10th, 12th, graduation score and CAT percentile, there is no age preference here. And for MBA mostly age is below 30 years. After you get call, you will have to appear for GD or esaay writing- which again does not depend on your age. Then last rpund is interview. I think first complete your journey till here, then leave it to your luck, you just go for interview and explain them your situation.
I could explain my 4 yrs of gap and at the same time I also told them how I can bring diversity in classroom as I have read different subjects in UPSC. I applied for 6 B schools and appeared for 4 interviews and converted 2 of them.

Hope this helps.

Another rant and regret that I wanted to just share.

Grab a plan B whenever you get one.

This year in June I got into XLRI's Delhi campus MBA program despite a 4 year gap.It was really unexpected. But at the same time I had cleared prelims for the first time and in order to prepare for mains I dropped that option :')

And today failing at mains I feel probably I should have taken it up.

I don't know if that decision was right or wrong , don't know if that was meant to be or not , don't know whether it was a stupid decision or not but somewhere the mains failure made me regret that decision. So choose wisely folks :)

Hi@D7
I gave XAT this year. If you are free and open I want to talk to you for a bit about it.
Thanks for considering. No worries if you can't do it.

A lot will depend on if you knew answers to the questions you left, or if you left the questions you did not know answers to.
