@Capedcrusader1How were your other papers ?

i feel i did better than last year for two reasons : improved writing and better presentation . like many others gs3 is the one im most hopeful about, 1 and 2 in both: some questions were unknown and i had less content. 4 i finished last year also but diff this time is improved presentation of CS. 10 markers i feel are subpar. essay i cant and wont evaluate. prepared a lot for essay and ethics this time

@Capedcrusader1 i may be 100% wrong about this but this mad craze about finishing the paper costed me my two previous mains...this time i decided i am gonna do 18 questions per gs paper but i will write quality stuff..make structure..draw diagrams etc...i left 6-8 questions in all papers combined but i wrote very nicely (or so do i think).. let's see if this costs me again or works in my favour.

Nice approach, if one has above average/good content for at least 14/18 questions.

Left one case study in ETHICS paper and a Sub part in another case study

Left one 10 Marker in Geography Optional Paper 1.

Rest Attempted all.

But guys i have one big query : As Time passes by, i get points in my mind and then thinking like i should have done that and this and this keep running in my mind. Do everyone get like these?? Coz as i get more points now, feeling like i wrote poorer quality answers than i should have given

In UPSC, there is a expiry date for everything(apart from discipline, focus). A stream of thought emerges, will become popular for few years, Commission recognises that and is hellbent on to dismantle it. Be it related to books, current affairs magazines, test series, way of writing GS, essay, perception of rewarding optionals...A kind of dialectics

@garvitksh Somehow 1 and 2 are same number

I hope upsc corrects its mistake

@rebellion agree, but having taken all these facts into consideration, I also took the factor of rising competition not in terms of knowledge, but in terms of presentation. let's see.... one thing is sure that cut-off will not escalate abruptly, because upsc this year asked questions (which were factual and direct), for which an average aspirant dependent on magazines and newspapers are not prepared for.

@krishna96 if that's the case you may score highest marks in optional this year. All the best

@Unbroken forget two months, after one week, one is not able to recall fully what one wrote on those precious answer booklets.

@masteroptimist yes agree. it was merely a hypothetical figure, not empirical. leniency or strictness matters a lot.

@rockhard quality matters a lot, but if only one has provided the needful requisites in other attempted questions.

14-15 questions me bhi  bilkul cut and dried answer nai banenge. usme bhi log achhe answer likh lenge alag alag type ke unless its ourely static. also in easy questions, one finishes them in less than stipulated time (7/11mins)

@Capedcrusader1 that is correct...but if you are able to increase 1.5 marks per question in say 15-16 questions...that is an increase of 24 marks then that's good too...baki it is all speculation...let's see.
