I think more marks in optional is because of fixed syllabus, expected ques, less randomness(than GS); apart from that I also feel efforts from aspirants has also forced examiners to give more marks(very few put so much efforts in GS), mostly applicable for PSIR

@ranyo_asokaits same for every other paper..same booklist/tests/ca magazines..its upto you how you are going get those extra points to be in top 150..is not it?

@pranay3962129No ine is sure about IFS posting & high level connection.Suyash Chavan(IFS 2017) a first generation but posted in Germany.Also what is wrong with cairo posting?its better than posted in a small district where people only think about you as a chamcha of MLA-MPs. In my state west bengal,no one cares about IAS/IPS. Everyone know they cant do a shit. Previus DM of a district here started a initiative to help the workers of tea estate but when he got transfer,new DM stopped it as some MLA having some stupid problem with all those workers.
This is just 1 example.Even in my locality we have problem with waste mgmt/waterscarcity.NOone cares not the municipality not the stupid new DM.
@johnwickI dont think so.Nothing is best in this changing world.Its completely upto individual.Whichever you think will suit you most.

@CaesarHmm.goodarticle.Doyou know anything about whether IFS officer leave their job after 10-15 years to work in UN/WTO or any other internation org.? Also I have read on quora that one iFS got sacked as she married a foreigner(Swiss I guess).
