Are you able to watch full matches during prep?

Arsenal fan here. I watch all the Arsenal games even now unless they are not a day before or during the exams :p

Back in college, I used to watch most of the PL games, the knockout games of the CL. Europa League was eww anyway, but lately I have been watching Europa too :p

I'm not a football enthusiast / lover, so I won't be contributing much here.

But, immediately after my Btech in 2018, I had a lot of free time, to kill the time, I watched Football World Cup - 2018.

Too many emotions. It was fantastic. Just wish Croatia had won the world cup instead of France.

Big fan of Luka Modric' ❤️. He inspired me a lot & his personal struggles, his dedication etc inspired me & later, I started my civils preparation.

This is lovely :)

Prediction for La Liga anyone? Will Atletico choke?

I think Atleti won't bottle this. Their matches with Real Madrid are over. They just have to see out the game against Barca to seal it. I am pretty sure Barca and Real will have one or two more upsets the way they have been playing this season.

@AzadHindFauzDid you see Mourinho's comments yesterday :p

Anyways I also mostly see the highlights now. Spend more time on reading football opinions

Yes, I hate him but he is funny :)

I guess he needs another pushback from Wenger to look up. Haha.

@AzadHindFauz I see you like to suffer in eternal agony as well.

Shuru maze me kiye the, ab majboori ho gayi hai :p

Does anyone play FPL?

Not these days. It is very addictive and who has the time now!

@AzadHindFauz that’s ancient history :P
I started my foray in football with Chelsea, only because one of my good friends liked them. Slowly got more and more into football, went out to buy a Chelsea jersey, wasn’t available, Arsenal’s was. That started my love-hate relationship with the club.
Although I stuck with Chelsea till the night they won the CL. Then started watching Arsenal and fell in love with Wengerball.
Arsenal is still my go to club but the club just doesn’t have the same excitement to it. Earlier even in defeat Arsenal played some breathtaking football. Now it’s just:
-Play well in the start
-Score/Get close to scoring
-Make an error and concede
-Try to breakdown the team
-Get hit on counters
-Bring on Willian
-Pain

We have some structural issues that begins with the board. Stan Kroenke is disinterested in football. Edu makes poor decisions. Arteta's decisions have been poor too.

Tierney, Aubameyang, Gabriel, Saka, Partey and ESR are the reasons to celebrate. We have a decent frontline, but the CBs are unreliable. We need to bring back Saliba and sign another good CB in the Summer. Some of the players like Luiz, Willian, Elneny are way past their due date but Arteta keeps playing them.

Mour would have devised something against it, most probably aggressive marking and counter attack

It's more likely the second option. If Arteta starts Elneny and Willian again, then we are doomed (He opts for a conservative line up for big games)

I'd fancy- Xhaka, Partey + Pepe, Odegaard, Saka + Auba.

This would be fun to watch.

City have a habit of bottling it up at this stage however good they might be playing. I doubt they would beat bayern (assuming they reach the semis).

True, but Guardiola cannot be kept away from CL for long. They have not made too many mistakes this season. There is a first time for everything :)

None of the other teams have been as emphatic as them. Bayern is probably close. That's why I'm hoping they sail over PSG.

@AzadHindFauz don't underestimate Dortmund.. esp with 2nd leg at signal iduna

I want to see Haaland perform at final stages.  But, Terzic over Pep cannot be digested at this moment.

I don't want him to win the treble or the quadruple

Given the huge gap between the 1st and 2nd in the league, it looks very likely. He can afford to rotate key players even if it comes at the cost of 2 or 3 upsets in the league. Treble or Quadruple is almost impossible if you play  same set of players in all formats. Liverpool is a good example this season to see the adverse effects of overplaying the team.

Pep has a lot of depth already. Aguero comes off the bench- someone who deserves to play 90 minutes in any of the best European teams! Lately, Pep has also been playing Bernado Silva up front with both Jesus and Aguero on the bench. This kind of flexibility gives MCI great advantage.

This hobby is like world history in mains. So much one can study. But so little that may be asked. Last time i wasnt asked a single question.

Btw did u guys write simply football or watching/playing football or was it highly specialised like watching epl or following bayern or quizzing or fotball trivia or indian football history etc?

I am going with 'Watching European Football'. I am studying a bit of history of European football and some non-football stuffs (We do not watch football for these things) like the weight of the ball, perimeter of the ground, goal post and many more etc.

Jeez, mentioning "Supporting Arsenal club" in DAF is surely an easy way of getting 190+. No better way of building your character than supporting this club.

exactly...lol...."positive attitude" is a given for arse supporters...but can also be seen as delusional optimism by board members :P

Arsenal fans have the greatest degree of optimism possible in any living species. The UPSC should have made special provision for horizontal reservation for the likes of us- +5 marks for living constantly with the feeling of being battered and still being hopeful to achieve glory someday. That's exactly what you need in a CS! :)

What apps are you guys using to track the transfer market developments? I had a lesser-known decent app that I uninstalled by mistake. Now, I cannot recall what was it :p

Yeah, I follow him. But, he covers stories surrounding important players only. I'm also concerned about the signings being done by the likes of Norwich, Newcastle etc. :p

Wait what??? Does Poch want to leave PSG?

He is unhappy there. Daniel Levy has admitted his decision to sack Pochettino as 'worst mistake'. Pochettino said earlier that he would return some day. Stars are aligning!

Now that Zidane seems to be leaving Madrid, Conte is top contender for that job. Let's see what happens.

FRANCE.Literally Any Team on Earth.  WALES.

In that order.

I like them. It's because two guys (Bale and Ramsey) have been pulling that team since I don't know when.

France, Portugal and Germany are in the same group. Who do you think will crash out? Also, is there any decent alternative to sonyliv?

Germany? I see both France and Portugal through. Portugal has never been this much better. France will finish up top! Germany has been awful in qualification. Let's see, but it's going to be very close between Portugal and Germany for the second place.

I just bought the subscription. Please don't talk about alternatives in public. I'd be disappointed if there's one :p

Two teams that have exceeded the expectations so far in Euro are the Netherlands and Italy (especially Italy; might even see a repeat of 2012) and probably the most underwhelming team have been English (with all the hype). Why is Southgate not giving Sancho, Grealish, etc a good run?@AzadHindFauz @Jurgen_klopp @babu_bisleri @SergioRamos

Southgate is just a coward manager. He's being conservative in not giving them game time. Apparently, they are not fit for playing in such a major tournament straight away (he said). I don't understand this logic at all. Grealish carried Villa single-handedly last season. Sancho is a proven match-winner for Borussia. Had he given time to them and England performed poorly, he would have been criticized even more. That's what he must be thinking!

Sterling should sit out tonight if England wants to win this one. I think Sancho might get some game time tonight after all the criticism Southgate has been subjected to for not playing him.

totally, his logic of not considering them fit to play on the big stage is beyond me...I mean Rice and Phillips never played in europe but they are doing fine then why not Sancho? Having said that I still can't believe England have trusted their golden generation to this bloke while a certain Arsene Wenger is sitting at home :P

He was offered the job, but he said that an Englishman would be more suitable for the role. Clearly, he was wrong!

@AzadHindFauz Somebody shared this with me:

"In 2014 Arsène Wenger gave Aaron Ramsey a huge contract, so Arsenal couldn’t match those wages when it came to renew. He then went to Juventus on £400k-a-week plunging them into a financial crisis, meaning that they can’t afford Dušan Vlahović.
Arsène Wenger, he's done it again! " Of course with a traditional Arsene Wenger smirk.
Never gets old

Haha. This never gets old. Aaj kya lagta hai? Are we going to Wembley?
