If ur gng to take Current affairs also then dipin sir is the best in Market,he teaches less topics but most sureshot topics.

For All india simulator those are like 6 to 8 tests.AIS are forums one of the best products modeled on differnt Previous year papers, will make u ready for all types of papers.

This is my mere observation n experience, but not review, hope it would help.

Friends, can someone help in deciphering Volume2of Economic Survey. I mean I know that one is not required to read the whole 320 pages. But nevertheless, the kind of questions which are appearing in prelims do suggest that it cannot be left untouched as well. Attaching Screenshot of the content page.

@12432TrivendrumRajdhani

1. Focus on trends and boxes. Do not read it line by line.

2. Try to read a chapter a day. One should not try to finish the entire ES in one go.

3. Vol 2 is more Mains centric - esp from chapters starting with Agriculture. Read so that you can inculcate points in answers. Multiple readings help here.

@upsc2020 As Frank says- "point taken". Thanks, will follow this advice. Yes, reading it in a go is a daunting task. Suffering from this after I tried completing Vol 1 in a go, in 3 days, but at the cost of other subject

According to recent amendmen in nhrc can chairperson and members be reappointed?

Yes. The new act allows for reappointment. Earlier, members were reappointed for maximum 5 years. But the new act has removed that 5 year clause and now there is no time limit, subject to maximum age limit of 75 yrs.

Is salinity a condition required for formation of coral reefs?

Also, isn't 27-33% salinity just excessive!?

Salinity is an important condition for growth of coral reefs, because it helps in calcification and forming the calcium and carbonate shells.

It isn't excessive; had that been the case we would have had corals near fresh water areas also.

Thanks for the explanation! :)

The reason I had eliminated that option is because normal salinity is approx. 35 parts per thousand (i.e. 3.5%) and hence 27-33% salinity felt extreme

Major Non NATO Ally is a designation given by the U.S. government to exceptionally close allies who have strong strategic working relationships with American forces but are not members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

NATO Ally -member country of NATO

India's status - Not a Major Non NATO Ally - https://thediplomat.com/2019/08/no-india-isnt-a-major-non-nato-ally-of-the-united-states/

Old and New NCERTS are sufficient for ancient and medieval history.

How to read: it varies from subject to subject. For history, re- reading the chapter and marking out important facts should be the strategy.

You could make short notes / summary of the facts for revision so that you do not have to read the entire book before exam.

Is it important to read draft proposals and laws for prelims? I guess they aren't as important as they are in the draft stage?
