That's it. :(

But the effort was 10+.

** Last day of 3 day cycle, will start new cycle from tomorrow.

*** Mrunal notes are so well written, I felt a bit of guilt in learning from them without paying money for his effort. Filhal ke lie duaaon me yaad rakhunga. Love you sir.

Targets.

Shift 1: eco handout pillar 5 and 6

Shift 2: survey vol 2

Shift 3: polity

OFF TOPIC:-
@NadanParinda

bhai how one gets blue tick/green tick here on forum?

Frankly I don't know. I think blue tick is given to top contributors and whom one can follow and ask doubts. I used to reply to many and had created some threads. (Just like Twitter)

Green tick to those who have cleared the exam. Red tick for technical people.

(If I'm not wrong)

P.S: spelling mistake in tag.

@Naadan_Parinda

you deserved that blue tick man,and very soon green tick too :)

Hi.

I had seen all lectures in Feb and read pillar 1 2 3 at that time. Had some memory of lectures but mostly it felt completely new for pillar 4 5 6.

But yeah had no choice. So it had to be done.

P.s. big as long as it is not done. Once it is done it's just good memories. 😊😊

@Raillife  passive study can be done.......... Once every thing is done/ you have completed economy & its CA part from any source, you  can go for selective reading directly from handout. you can turn the pages in a day.......

even i have planned similarly if economy gave a nightmare........ lets see :)

true par 1 base source hona chaie

maine last year mrunal kara tha but ab samaj nhi arrha kya karu

YES............if not it can endanger minimum 25 questions...........

 Any basic source from where you are reading.........(do it minimum) then switch to questions directly.

if you solve 500 economy questions & revise i can tell you nothing will be left...............

Minimum is 11th NCERT and Shankarganesh (as this is thinnest one)

For 500 Questions, Vivek Singh @ Shubhra has shard one pdf, you can get it on freeupscmaterials

What will be the strategy for eco, keeping in mind the 40 days for pre?

Shankar Ganesh and that 500 mcq?

Or sriram selective and 500 mcq?

Hi, need some suggestions for prelims 2020:

I haven't prepared CA well, done 5-6 Vision monthly and now have completed S&T, envy. and Polity 365. Do you think revising 365 will be better or I should do something else.

And in static parts should I revise basic books of polity, mod history, environment( I have read them 2-3 times but not in recent 2-3 months), like I understand basic story/ concepts but make mistakes at facts.

So should I revise notes of Laex rapid reckoner or some other short notes or go by test papers.

Please suggest, I am losing confidence from 2-3 days that now if I can complete things or not?!!

Don't go for la excellence directly,they are very short notes

About static

Give 2-3 days for each subject revise and give test re read your weak point

and then move to flt test

About ca

Revise that vision monthly which u have already covered

For new ca refer to any 60-70pages compilation like only ias quick revision or factly (only ias quick revision only contains 40-50 pages don't know its good to follow or not, but i will follow that only coz of tima paucity)

Lastly read pyq sincerely

Always Remember exam me pada hua kuch nhi ayega,sab pad lia revise krke confidence ayega aur us confidence se hi pre crack hoga(jitna me samja hoon abhi tak is exam ko)

This question is to those who are clocking 9+ hours consistently - how do you manage to sit for long hours? I mean physically, how do you keep going? I max out at about 7-8 hours. Also been experiencing tremendous lower back pain of late due to continuous sitting. It's come to the point where I literally have to lie on the floor for relief. This shouldn't be happening at 23 years of age.

@dwightschrute

as soon as u wake up start studying as suggested by newyan sir(ab chahe 10 baje uth rahe ho ya 12 baje) no brush no tea bas splash some water on ur face and start studying

back dukh rhi hai toh ghumte ghumte padlo

neend arrhi hai to 20 mnt ka alarm lagake so jao fir chai banao aur pado

man nhi kar raha toh subject change krlo test dedo

bas yhi ilaj hai iska,keech lo ek mahina hai

@Raillife for me its 20 in 1 hours.

1 pillars one day from today,  I start.

@sanjiv026

Great speed!

I am not doing all the pillars,more concentrating on the mocks/pdfs

I have decided to complete 1st pillar by today but shot of 10 pages

Socha tha complete karke soyunga lekin ab 3 baje ke baad dimag me kuch jaa nhi raha :P

So today i completed 75 pages in some 7-8 hours + another 2 hours of ca and pyq

Mrunal ne bahut extra bhi dia hai,unecessary chize deke pages bad gaye,i have already read and watch his classes in 2018 but now i again print all the notes so reading line by line

Mrunal ke handout padne ke baad rbi wale muze 20-30k ki job tog de hi denge itna gyan toh mil hi jayega rbi ka :p

Couldn't do anything today. Was feeling unwell. Will resume from tomorrow morning.

By the way guys i have one doubt if anyone could help: is it necessary to cover mrunal's lectures or his handouts for pre bcz i asked on telegram and people were like ki you must do mrunal at all costs etc? I tried doing it but i felt too much info overload. Previously i did ncerts, shankar ganesh key concepts, newspaper, survey and budget and vivek singh eco 500 questions and trying to revise the same but sometimes here and there i feel little troubled so thought of picking up mrunal but it is only giving me headache. so please suggest me if i should do it now when time is so less? or i should focus on my previous sources only and will they be sufficient for pre ?

@dalpha

The source you mentioned is good enough dont go for mrunal now and re revise that source only and have faith on them

No doubt Mrunal is good but its contain hell lots of info this is the reason the content is 600 pages coz he covered each and every thing (some time unnecessary too)

I am also doing Mrunal but selective

Gave 2 polity tests and analysis. Wasted away most of the day daydreaming. I wonder if I am a serious aspirant?!

Ur one good day and one bad day will not decide that ur good aspirant or not, the cumulative of any above of the days will decide

I decided to finish eco by 3 started on 31

Starting 2 days for super awesome

Next day was okok

Last day(yesterday)was Horrible (coz of insecurity of the future,ias nhi hua toh kya hoga,ho bhi payega kya ias muzse,pre nikal nhi raha,mains me kaise itna likh payunga lakhs of aspirant are there muzme me ase kya hai jo me un sabko piche chord sakta hoo etc etc) so i strictly told to my self that these factors is not my in hand only study is hence i pushed my self and able to study 2-3 hours in night

Bottom-line is keep studying and continuesly remind your mind about your goals, everything is ur mind

Aaj i didn't follow the usual routine but revised 2017-2020 IR and 2019-20 Society. Hope to finish 2018-19 Booklet of society.

Csat Test given but scoring around 87-100 in forum and vision.

@Dora-the_Explorer please give some tips about Increasing marks in Csat.

Was feeling a bit lethargy may be i am start to feel a bit burn out. I hope this feeling ends and I regain my energy...

Any tips to regain energy?@HotBloodPrince @Naadan_Parinda @Sherkhan1428

-Hey, My weakness is Maths, so, my focus is on my weakness nd m practising daily one topic or sub-topic with PYQs.

- For CSAT I guess PYQs are the best source. My comprehension nd reasoning part is gud, so I try to give 2-3 CSAT mocks in a week just to keep myself confident.

- Marks between 90-100 is enough (if u r scoring in mocks), we just need 33%.

- So, just focus on your weak areas nd start practising PYQs.

@Dora-the_Explorer

what will you suggest for a person who is very poor in maths,poor in reasoning and ok in English

should i start from youtube videos for maths or directly give csat pyq ?

@Qoqo Any day Dipin sir's class. Believe me there is no one in orn who puts this level of effort in Current affairs classes for mains. His Class notes (not referring to the ones available in the market ) are simply a full and final material for GS 2,3.

and wbt his pre ca classes ?

and what is the ideal time to join his classes ? for 2021 i am asking

now or may be in jan/feb ?

Same :( I think going forward it would be good to maintain notes on a selected few current affairs topics that can be updated from newspapers.

Do check out Rau's DNS videos on YouTube. I find the quality excellent generally. It saves an awful lot of time as well. They've uploaded a list of all issues from the Hindu for the past 2 years, along with their video explainers of those issues. This is not only quite exhaustive, but it helps in gathering a conceptual understanding. I supplement this with research on facts/figures/value additions plus relevant gapfillers.

When I feel my notes are insufficient, the DNS videos and Indian Express articles are my go-to source for current affairs. Did not do PT 365. This approach worked for me immensely in PT. Thought I should share. :)

did u make any notes out of it ?

after watching its daily anylasis ?

Thank you so much!! I could only find the daily The Hindu news analysis videos on their YouTube though - are there separate topic-based ones?

List of Articles - DNS, May 2019- Aug 2020.pdf

DNS LINK January 2018 to May 2019.pdf

Right, so this is the index of all the articles that have been discussed from Jan 2018 onwards till Prelims 2020. I think this is possibly one of the most comprehensive indices of all relevant current affairs issues, simply because it comes from the average newspaper. They've included links to all their videos as well, article-wise. PDF links to their daily notes are also available on Youtube. The notes are usually of a good quality, but I don't recommend reading all of it, simply because the point behind this is maximising efficiency, and making best use of time. However, where necessary, snippets from the PDFs can be added on to your notes.

You'll need to do a bit of digging from within the index (as in, if you want to holistically do issues about River Ganga, Ctrl+F "Ganga") and identify the topics you would choose to do. You would also need to be proactive in adding points not discussed to add value to your answer. But I think, if one can do that, and effectively prepare the important ones, preparation would be more holistic rather than doing them straight from a Mains 365.

Pro-tips:Watch the videos at 1.5-2.0 x speed depending on necessity. Go from October, 2020 backwards.

can u plz tell me how to use these 2pdfs in our mains preparation ?
