CSE 2023: Plan/ Strategy/ Daily Routine

@Neyawn @LetsGetThisBread @sjerngal

Wrote 1st MGP 2023 TEST..half 10 question one..attempted 6-7 in 1.5 hour...in the paper nothing was coming in my mind..just threw away the paper n went...is it normal?people improve from this point in next year?

Shifted to Delhi on 1st with so many stakes.. exhausted 2 attempts.

Feeling like everything is dark..

I was never able to complete my first MGP..
Had a massive panic attack after writing just 4 questions and never completed it. ..
It is very very normal to mess up your first few tests.
What really matters is how you improve upon it.
Since you have shifted to delhi, it would be very useful for you to get in touch with the mentors and personally discuss whatever issues you face while writing a test.
Good Luck !

Mann hi ni kar raha. Itna mann karta hai to come back on Forum but this is not 2020 anymore. My friends@whatonly ,@AzadHindFauz @sjerngal  and many others are already selected and I am still slogging. I come here and I feel defeated. Isiliye, mann ni karta aane ka yahan.

Indeed life is tough.
But aren't we all learning and re-learning in this process?
If it wasn't tough it would have been so boring isn't it?
Nothing is a defeat unless you let your mind take it as a defeat and mentally accept it as a defeat.

For me, forum is family.. That's why I am still lingering around here..
I hope you also find your reason to loiter around once in a while :)
It is always amazing to see familiar faces (read usernames) here ..
Much love

I am thinking to develop my basic  static content till September around MGP model answers...

Model answers should be used as a reference only and not as the ONLY source..

Guys, I need some help. How do you peeps mug up things and revise?

I am not able to do it efficiently and it is costing me heavily in mains.

In my last two mains, I have deduced that mains cannot be cleared without effective mugging up. I am not able to do that properly and it is making me irritated.

Any suggestion how to go about it?

Make your "Dirty notes", by that I mean short notes/ one page notes or anything under the sun , that includes the things that you have difficulty in remembering or things that you want to be on ur tips.

A week before the exam, my productivity was super low, but i keeps revising and recalling all the facts, quotes, diagrams etc. over and over again, so I found it relatively easy to make them a part of my answers as well.

Hi! Does anyone remember the history book (not spectrum or bipan chandra or the ncerts) that was being recommended because there were few questions in prelims directly from it in the recent past? I am unable to recollect the name of the authors. (I feel like reading some books and thought it would be better to read this than any random one.)

Thanks.

If I am not wrong it was "From plassey to Partition"..
I am not sure though

Okay. Take for example I have a 15 page note of an optional topic. How do I go about compressing it? Like there can be two approaches I can think of.

1) dividing the topic into various headings and remembering the headings.

2) writing all the difficult to memories things instead of a micro summary of the topic.

How should I do it. And, are there any alternatives?

Give your input too@LetsGetThisBread . How to go about it?

I personally used the second option..
I made around half page notes for each chapter (topics)of my optional that contained only and only those things which i knew I had to memorize at any cost and use it in the actual paper .. Or it included those things which I knew i would be revising one day before the exam ..

For optional say you have to remember Plato, I take one page and make a cloud diagram sort of thing where one cloud represents the theory of idea and from and write all the related keywords about it. That way you’re not writing the entire thing against, just the keywords which makes it easier to facilitate recall as well.

As for GS, suppose you pick a topic of nutrition- your one page should contain, definition, data, keywords related to the problem, schemes and few keywords for that scheme, solutions and way forward, as well as a diagram.

I also have more or less similar views ..
