@Neyawn @forumiasacademy Hello Sir, if I miss one offline current affairs class due to health reasons, can I get access to its online lecture later on? Currently, the helpdesk team is not permitting the same.

@Steph_Curry What'd be your 2 cents regarding someone who is planning to appear for ifos only and has to start from scratch?

Also is geology a manageable subject?

Hello!

A senior Apoorv Dixit did this last year and got AIR 11 in IFoS. It is very manageable.

I am assuming that 1 optional is forestry. If the other optional is not common with CSE, geology is the most preferred one! You can take help of any classes/ Youtube videos for preparing Geology along with the standard textbooks like Bangar.

The preparation has to be in 2 dimensions

 1. Prelims- Getting a score at par with IFoS cutoff

 2. Covering both the optionals holsitically to get an advantage there

For that, you can use the next 5 months of 2023 to finish 1 optional in totality and 60-70% of the other one. Both optional can also be done entirely if you plan well. After that, prelims should be focussed upon! Then back to IFoS mains after the prelims.

Refer to Apoorv Dixit bhaiya's notes both for Forestry and Geology. It is available on his telegram channel.

All the best :)

I referred to Apoorv Dixit's notes only! Made my own short notes from there and some online sources/ std books. I only had 20-25 days to prepare for each of the optionals! I'll share my forestry/ geology short notes on my telegram channel here.

Past 2 Months: Failed Prelims, Secured a sort of decent backup, Got complacent by happiness/joy of securing back-up.

Shall restart with CSE in the morning. Do not even want to look/get back to CSE material. Nevertheless.

Hi guys,

So I started my prep for mains 2023 around July 1st week due to some family reasons, health reasons and score fluctuations in Prelims keys. This will be my first mains and no matter how hard I try I am unable to get back to pre-prelims productivity. My reading and comprehension speed seems to have fallen off a cliff. Plus the regret of wasting  away June (at times unavoidable) is eating me up.

The only consolation is that I have consistently written tests and with some decent score in GS (in 90s with 105+ being what toppers score). But in my optional PSIR it is 90s and 100s (I know pathetic). There is just too much to do with too little time.

Status of notes: Have basic notes for everything except Internal Security and PSIR. But even the notes I have made, I have not revised or internalised well. For PSIR the current plan is to use OnlyIAS revision booklets+ Coaching answer key. . Plus the FOMO of value addition material is also adding upto the anxiety of me being at a significant disadvantage.

Is it possible to pull off mains 2023 or are my chances way too slim? Can you guys suggest what needs to done in the next 45 days?

Also did your mock scores reflect your actual score in mains (especially PSIR)?

Thanks a lot!

Best of luck to all of you give your best and I know you will do well and will come out strong like warrior.Be just calm , composed have faith on yourself and don’t loose hope till 5:30 PM of 24 th September

So keep going as -

Will not be opening forum before 25 th  ,so wishing you all in advance

Hi peeps, a doubt w.r.t PSIR optional.

Do you guys prefer to attempt Part A or Part B questions more in both the papers? And are theory questions more rewarding than current based questions?
