Hi guys!
The results came. Out again.
This was my 3rd attempt. 3rd Mains. And 3rd straight setback at this stage. This one hurt the hardest though.
Yesterday was spent in processing the pain and trying to introspect on the mistakes I made. There are a lot of things I need to work on. Some changes I need to make in my approach. Changes I'm confident of implementing because of the support system I'm lucky to have, especially here.
I want to thank this community. This thread (and particularly the 2021 daily routine thread) are my favorite threads. I've made some great friends here, learned a lot from everyone and found motivation every day to work better. And now I hope this thread will help in keeping the desired level of discipline, consistency and intensity.
It's time to get back to the grind now. This still hurts; but the only way to heal the pain is to be better and ensure a positive result next time. The next 6 months is do-or-die.
Targets for today:
1) Polity
2) Newspaper
3) CA August 10 pages
4) Maths PYQs
5) TLP
Have a great day!
I feel you man....exact same feelings after results. Was highly positive and confident about the attempt this time but it did'nt work out for whatever reason. Into the thick again and its time to grind hard (2022 will be my last attempt because I do not wish to write more, so will give it all to make it count)
Posting targets first time here for this one, so here goes:
1. Previous 10 year questions analysis
2. Polity static : FR,DPSP,FD,Emergency Prov,State and centre executive
@Celeborn & @KingSlayer23 You people inspire!
Couldn't write mains but still reading all the experiences of pain made me sad. But you guys made my morning:)
Also@Celeborn can you please throw some light on what helped you clear prelims all three times?
thank you for your kind words...the feeling has been gut-wrenching but with all the good people working hard around here, I feel strength to gather myself and again put in work
Hello guys,
This is my first post in this thread.
I am giving my 6th and final attempt.
Some days, like yesterday I do get a bit overwhelmed, but I am giving this attempt to break free from this cycle.
So far I am half-way into my second revision. I gave mocks and performed okey in few and abysmal in few.
I am able to clock 7-8 hours on average but want to go upto 12 by the final 30 days.
Todays target1) Current affairs (newspaper, Monthly revision, daily MCQs).
2) Economics mock test/SA.
3) Evening exercise.
Salute to your resolve and mental fortitude to come this far in the journey…never say never and give it all the fight you’ve left

I have always been a fan of war stories, stories of utmost grit and perseverance, of friendships, of love, life and death. Having it all and staking it on one turn of pitch and toss. Maybe it began when I read War and peace years ago and got fascinated with Bezukhov or maybe it was watching 300 as a child. The one thing common to all wars(stories) is that you enter with passion and a sense of purpose to acclaim victory and fame at all cost, but in the midst of it all, you realise that passion is over-rated and will not sail you through and that tales of immortality interest you the least and fame was never worth it anyway. We learn that to just survive we will have to push with every ounce of energy we have and keep at it again and again even though sleep and rest beckons with all its lustrous might and then hope that Lady Luck favour us brave and plummets us to the end of the tunnel. (The tale of Mara Vijaya brings a smile). The reason I am typing all of this is because being in the state( not mental, just geographical) of Buddha away from preparation hubs and isolated in a room, this war has got to me. With my friends and batchmates partying and moving on in life, I ask myself to soldier on towards my path, my own battle. Please know that seeing you all post targets is the Sam to my Frodo. (Reference- LOTR). It makes me feel that I am not the only one walking in these dark alleys of Mount Doom. May we be victorious soon.
"Lambi hai gham ki shaam faiz, magar shaam hi to hai."
P.S- This is more of a note to self than to others, I don't know why I am posting it, maybe the war has really got to me. Keep hustling guys.
I guess a lot of us were like frodo, thinking that our quest is complete when we reached rivendell (mains 2021) but it was only a start to next big thing...and yes being here on this thread has helped me finding courage again
