CSE 2022: Plan/ Strategy/ Daily Routine

This is an everything thread for all stuff 2022. You can post your daily goals, end-of-the-day updates, weekly targets or any weird thing you use to measure your progress. You can put into words & post the soul-sucking sadness that is threatening to devour you & your productivity. You can write what made your day & let others experience the happiness too, at least vicariously. This is a thread to pick each other up. This is a thread to keep each other accountable. This is a no-judgement zone.

--------

“This is one more piece of advice I have for you: don't get impatient. Even if things are so tangled up you can't do anything, don't get desperate or blow a fuse and start yanking on one particular thread before it's ready to come undone. You have to realize it's going to be a long process and that you'll work on things slowly, one at a time.”

Can someone please clear my doubt that whether Cess & Surcharge have been subsumed into GST, it's confusing me because surcharge is levied only on direct taxes and GST is an indirect tax?

How do you guys remember "contemporary type" questions in ancient, medieval history. Do you actually remember the dates or is there a story linking two events. Like that Iltutmish-Chengiz khan-Tughlaq-Timur type questions. They completely bamboozle me, no matter how much i try to remember their actual dates. Complicate this with Bhakti Sufi saints and it becomes unfathomable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the times, the contemporary questions options are framed wrongly. The one in 2021 was tight in terms of years and that made it tough. Although you can still go for marking them as false. However i have a thing or two with dates.. So i mark them right!!

I made a table from old ncert. The list may not be exhaustive but can definitely help in answering or eliminating the options. Sharing screenshots. Won’t take more than 15 minutes to learn them all.

Hi. Both have not been subsumed in GST so far. In the recent Budget, Surcharge on LTCG was mentioned.

Cess was also applicable on one automobile purchased in previous fiscal year. I have attached the screenshot.

I had one doubt on this. I asked it then to some economics optional aspirants but could not get answer. Sharing here. Cess, what I have understood is levied on ‘tax’, that is ‘CGST + SGST’. But here, it is levied on ‘basic price of automobile’. Somebody please enlighten where I am going wrong.

Quoting from the link given below : "GST Compensation Cess is calculated on taxable value. Though it is coined as Cess, it is similar to tax. It is independent of IGST, CGST and SGST"

@Jammu Sl(8) of that invoice refers to GST compensation cess. This will be used to compensate states till july 2022. As per GST Act and decisions of GST council, depending on engine capacity of automobiles , the compensation cess is charged on the taxable value of product(car). ie cess is not charged on GST amount but on pre tax value of the car.

Where as in case of education or health cess which is charged as part of income tax, cess is calculated  as a percentage of income tax not on your whole income. That means first income tax is calculated , then x% of of that is computed as cess.
