Dear All, 2 students got their signature wrong and one student has submitted his inverted signature. He went to UPSC and they said he will be allowed to edit the signature as well as other details once the correction window opens.
Same reply was given to both people - one woman and one man, unrelated and they went to UPSC felicitation counter at different days at different times.
Not sure about photo editing rights. If anyone has spoken in UPSC about rights to edit or change photo, please share
@DM Can you help people facing issues with their application with whatever experience you have?
@Neyawn @DM Sir I have uploaded photo along with date and name.
BUT in the photo I have little beard. (not long) But I do have some. Now they say that we should go clean shaved in Interview. So is it something to worry about ?
Are they really not going to allow someone just because I had a slight beard ?
This is the first time they are doing it. Minor changes will not be a problem. In one year, anyway the face will change a bit.
Do not worry about it.
@Neyawn I did an error in this while filling date of photo (filled year 2000 instead of 2024). Will I able to do correction between 6-12 march ? As some are saying photograph can't be edited during that period. If someone has edited photograph last year, please reply. (In worst case scenario, if I am not allowed to edit, what should I do, will there be any problem on exam day because of this?)Also, there are some students who have filled the form without including date and name in photograph, they are also having same doubt.Thank you
It is recommended that you follow guidelines.
A safe approach is to go for a second registration. If one candidate has done two registrations , the last registration is counted as genuine.
@Neyawn Sir, is there any specific format to be followed, since UPSC has not given any sample, different people are suggesting different formats (slate/date name on photo itself).
Difficult to find a studio with this slate facility where I currently am, hence confused.
Please guide if you can.
Edit the photo, no need to carry slate, and put name and date.
Actually I have not received my EWS certificate due to some issue. So I filled with general category. It will take approximately 7-8 days. So can I modify it after the correction window opens?Category,u can't change.
You can try after correction window. They could allow changing the category as well. You can also register with another email and mobile and apply with ews details. In case you can't get EWS certificate, use the general wala admit card
@Prasang person with username CrypticAlchemy212 has shared screenshot of notice on this discussion thread, refer to that
Can you quote him and put a dot?
My OBC certificate has my name as (SAI MEGHANA), same as in Aadhar card. But my matriculation certificate has my name as (SAIMEGHANA)(without the space). From FAQ OBC UPSC, it is said that personal details are ascertained from Matriculation certificate. Will the space in the name in my certificate leads to invalidation in the future?
This should not be a problem. Upsc will say stick to matric certificate, but obc certificate will be a big issue. You may stick to your obc and aadhar. Later affidavit will do.
Hello guys,
In my aadhar card as proof of identity I have only initial instead of full surname, while in all my certificates I have full surname. Is it going to create any problem.
If you are from South, you may have this problem. Just use the initials, as space issue will also be there. You can use initials and last name, like S R Bommai
Respected sir/madam...My name is Nagargoje Rahul Vitthal. Last year, I completed the UPSC One-Time Registration. During the registration process, UPSC requested the father's name as mentioned in the Matriculation exam certificate. However, my certificate does not specify my father's name separately . Consequently, I entered my father's complete name (i.e., Nagargoje Vitthal Haribhau). In my matriculation certificate, my mother's name is mentioned without her surname and last name(i.e., Hemalata). However, during the OTR, I provided my mother's name with her surname and last name(i.e., Nagargoje Hemalata Vitthal).Sir, please advise me if I filled it incorrectly. If so, kindly provide a solution.
If you get to edit it, edit it as per matric certificate.
This will not be a problem. After interview, you will be allowed to submit affidavits.
@Sandip_burnwal yes u need it many times they don't accept it in interview stage then it would cause problem to you and you might be rejected in interview stage
Aditya, didn't they give time to students this year for getting certificate?

Sir, Thank you for your clarification.
However, I had just checked that they will allow us to update the photograph.
I am thinking of updating it with a clean shave (Perhaps for my peace of mind & also to avoid showing negligence while filling out the form.) P.S. will attach a photo uploaded for your reference.Query below the photo!
Query w.r.t updating/correcting is:Will the date when I update the form (say 6 March) be considered the submission date or the date on which I submitted the original form (14 Feb)?My query is based on the presumption thatif the form is filled on a later date we get the center farther away(so, if you have any insights on this, I request you to share them too).
Thank You In Advance
AbhimanyuBrother it is based on date of application. Ur serial no alrdy generated
+1
@Neyawn Sir,I have filled my name according to my 10th marksheet (acc to UPSC instructions) ie “Name- Middle name- Surname”. But my name on Aadhar is “Surname-Name”. Is this going to be an issue in the future?
This should not be a problem. Vice versa usually is a bigger problem.
But try to reconcile the two. Get changes in AADHAR made.
Do I need to scan my photo mandatorily? My cybercafe wala clicked my photo on phone and then added name, date and resized it according to dimension and it's within the kb provided. However, it is not scanned version of a hardcopy, it's the soft copy which is resized. Will that create a problem? Please please let me know
No. Most people have done that.
@Neyawn sir, the picture I have uploaded does not has my name or date and I have already submitted the form. What should I do now? Please help!
Go through this thred :-)
@Neyawn Sir, I have a month old photograph with little beard which I took before shaving my head. Now, the notification says to have same beard in interview and photo submitted. What should I do? Get a new one with 2inches of hair and clean shave or the old one with normal hairs and little beard ?
well, what do the guidelines say? either follow that fully, or try to make sure that you look like your photo during prelims and mains
@Neyawn what is more preferable for interview beard or clean shave?
I know it's not that important but still..
Clean shave. Everyone nearly has to do it, or ends up doing it despite the normalisation of having a bearded look in the past half decade or so.
